1. Introduction

Welcome to Dotto ("we," "our," or "us"), developed by Wizlab. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application Dotto(the "App").

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

TL;DR: Your calendar data is managed by Apple via EventKit. Countdowns and preferences are stored locally on your device. We don't collect, track, or sell your personal data.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Calendar Data (Managed by Apple)

Dotto accesses your device's calendar data through Apple's EventKit framework. This includes:

  • Calendar events (title, date, time, location, notes)
  • Calendar accounts and calendar lists
  • Event recurrence rules and reminders

Important: Calendar data is stored and managed entirely by Apple's system calendar. Dotto reads and writes to the system calendar through EventKit. We do NOT have access to your calendar data on any server. Your calendar sync (iCloud, Google, Exchange, etc.) is handled by Apple's built-in calendar infrastructure.

2.2 App Data (Stored Locally)

Dotto stores the following data locally on your device using SwiftData:

  • Countdown timers (title, target date, color, icon, notification preferences)
  • Event templates (name, default duration, calendar, reminders)
  • App preferences (theme, font, first day of week, display settings)
  • Widget configurations

Important: All app data is stored locally on your device and is NOT transmitted to our servers. We do not have access to your countdowns, templates, or personal preferences.

2.3 Device Information

We may collect:

  • Device type and operating system version
  • App version for compatibility purposes
  • Crash reports (via Apple's built-in crash reporting)

2.4 Purchase Information

When you make a purchase, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) via StoreKit. We receive only:

  • Confirmation of your purchase status (Pro unlock or tip)
  • Anonymous transaction identifiers

We do NOT have access to your payment details, credit card information, or Apple ID credentials.

2.5 Widget Data Sharing

Dotto uses an App Group (group.com.wizlab.dotto) to share data between the main app and its widgets. This data:

  • Stays entirely on your device
  • Includes countdown data, calendar preferences, and theme settings
  • Is only accessible by Dotto and its widget extensions
  • Is NOT transmitted to any external servers

2.6 Notifications

Dotto uses local notifications for:

  • Event reminders
  • Countdown alerts (on the day and days before)
  • Daily summary (optional)

All notifications are scheduled locally on your device. No notification data is sent to external servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Display and manage your calendar events
  • Track and display your countdown timers
  • Provide event templates for quick event creation
  • Parse natural language input to create events
  • Display widgets on your home screen, lock screen, and StandBy
  • Send local notification reminders
  • Apply your chosen theme, font, and display preferences
  • Process and verify your purchases

We do NOT use your data for advertising, marketing, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the App's core functionality to you.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is protected through multiple layers:

  • Calendar data: Managed by Apple's EventKit with iOS-level encryption
  • App data: Stored locally via SwiftData, encrypted at rest by iOS
  • Preferences: Stored in UserDefaults, protected by your device passcode/Face ID/Touch ID
  • Widget data: Shared via App Group container, encrypted at rest by iOS

Data is deleted when you uninstall the App (except calendar events, which are managed by Apple's system calendar and persist independently).

5. Third-Party Services
