1. Introduction

Welcome to Poopwell ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and personal health information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application Poopwell(the "App").

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

TL;DR: Your health data stays on your device. We don't collect or have access to your bowel movement logs, health data, or personal information.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Health Data (Stored Locally)

Poopwell allows you to record and track your bowel movements and digestive health. This data includes:

  • Bowel movement logs (Bristol Scale type, date, time)
  • Stool color observations
  • Medical flags (blood, mucus, pain indicators)
  • Personal notes and observations
  • Food diary entries
  • User profiles (for multi-profile feature)

Important: All health data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData encrypted storage and is NOT transmitted to our servers. We do not have access to your health logs, bowel movement history, or any medical data.

2.2 Device Information

We may collect:

  • Device type and operating system version
  • Anonymous device identifier for subscription management
  • App version and crash reports

2.3 Purchase Information

When you make a purchase, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple (App Store). We receive only:

  • Confirmation of your subscription status
  • Anonymous transaction identifiers
  • Subscription type (monthly, yearly, or lifetime)

We do NOT have access to your payment details, credit card information, or Apple ID credentials.

2.4 iCloud Sync (Optional - Pro Feature)

If you enable iCloud Sync (Pro feature), your data is:

  • Synced through your personal iCloud account via CloudKit
  • Encrypted by Apple's CloudKit infrastructure
  • Only accessible by you through your Apple ID
  • NOT accessible by Wizlab or any third parties

2.5 Apple Health Integration (Optional)

If you enable Apple Health sync, Poopwell will:

  • Write digestive symptom data (constipation, diarrhea) to Apple Health
  • Request read/write permissions only for symptom categories
  • Process data locally - no health data is sent to our servers

Apple Health data is governed by Apple's privacy policy and protected by your device's security features (Face ID, Touch ID, passcode).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide and maintain the App's functionality
  • Process and manage your subscriptions
  • Improve and optimize the App experience
  • Detect and prevent technical issues
  • Respond to your support requests

We do NOT use your health data for advertising, marketing, or any purpose other than providing the App's core functionality to you.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your health data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData with encryption. This data is:

  • Encrypted at rest by iOS
  • Protected by your device passcode/Face ID/Touch ID
  • Backed up to iCloud only if you enable device backup or iCloud Sync
  • Deleted when you uninstall the App (unless backed up to iCloud)

5. Third-Party Services

5.1 RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases. RevenueCat may collect anonymous identifiers to track subscription status. For more information, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

5.2 Apple Services

The App integrates with Apple App Store for purchases, Apple HealthKit for health sync, and Apple CloudKit for iCloud sync. These services are governed by Apple's privacy policy.

5.3 No Analytics

Poopwell does NOT use any analytics SDKs (no Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, etc.). We prioritize your privacy over usage metrics.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access: View all your data stored in the App
  • Export: Export your data as PDF or CSV (Pro feature)
  • Delete: Remove all your data by uninstalling the App or using in-app data reset
  • Control Sync: Enable/disable iCloud Sync and Apple Health integration
  • Revoke Permissions: Revoke HealthKit permissions in iOS Settings at any time

7. Children's Privacy

Poopwell is rated 4+ and may be used by parents to track children's health with parental supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without parental consent. The multi-profile feature allows parents to manage family members' health data on a single device.

Poopwell is a health tracking tool. It does NOT provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. The Bristol Stool Scale information is for educational purposes only. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical concerns.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
